2024 Kali: Basic Double Stick (doble Baston) and Applications

When it comes to Filipino martial arts, many people’s first impression is stick fighting, Kali, Eskrima, Arnis. However, Filipino martial arts actually encompass a variety of disciplines and systems including empty hands combat (punching, kicking and grappling), impact weapons (sticks), edge weapons, flexible weapons, and projectile weapons.

It has diverse origins, and the same technique may have different names across different styles and instructors. Under Spanish rule, it gradually became systematized through written records.

Grandmaster Dan Inosanto has made (and continues to make) great efforts to teach, develop and promote Filipino martial arts (Kali, Eskrima, Arnis), inviting great Filipino masters to travel worldwide to teach their styles, making it a highly globalized martial arts system.

We are honored to invite Coach Jose, who is the pioneer to bring Filipino martial arts in Taiwan, teaching for many years and creating his own system: Uno Mas Martial Arts.

Uno Mas, meaning “one more" in Spanish, that is Coach Jose’s native language and reflects his philosophy towards martial arts – integrating the strengths of various martial arts into his own system. From long-range weapons to short-range weapons, hand-to-hand combat, and knife fighting, he utilizes different technical systems for combat in various distances and situations.
