Unlike the longsword, a greatsword typically refers to a two-handed sword with an overall length of over 150 centimeters and a weight of over 2-3 kilograms. Similar swords had different names throughout contemporary Europe. The Iberian version, known as the Montante, is slightly lighter and was widely used for bodyguard protection, on ships, and in battle formations.
We have invited Coach Bronn Kuo from Vor&Nach Historical European Martial Arts society to present “Iberia Montante: The Art of Defense." Many people know the greatsword for its impressive power, but it is also an excellent defensive weapon, capable of protecting others and maintaining order. Fans of the greatsword, don’t miss this opportunity.
